FAQ's

What are the most frequently asked questions?

A life coach helps individuals in their personal and professional development by guiding them to clarify their goals, overcome obstacles, and find better balance. Through personalized support, life coaching strengthens self-confidence, improves stress management, and enhances decision-making skills, helping people live a more aligned and fulfilling life.

Concretely, a life coach:

  • helps clarify personal or professional goals;
  • supports in managing stress, emotions, or life changes;
  • fosters self-confidence and motivation;
  • provides practical tools to improve organization, communication, and decision-making;
  • offers non-judgmental guidance while encouraging autonomy and accountability.

You might consider working with a life coach if you are going through a period of questioning or feel the need for guidance to move forward with more clarity and confidence. Some common signs include:

  • You have personal or professional goals but don’t know where to start.
  • You lack self-confidence or feel stuck in certain situations.
  • You are experiencing a major life change (new job, separation, career shift, moving, etc.) and want support to adapt more smoothly.
  • You wish to improve your work-life balance.
  • You feel like you are stagnating and want to bring more meaning and purpose into your life.

A life coach helps you clarify your priorities, define a concrete action plan, and regain motivation and confidence to reach your goals.

In Belgium, life coaching is generally not covered by mandatory health insurance. Here’s what is reimbursed:

Health insurance only covers psychological or psychiatric care provided by recognized professionals, such as accredited psychologists or psychotherapists.

Reimbursements are usually modest, around €10 to €11 per session, with limits of 8 to 20 sessions per year depending on the health insurance fund.

Specific reimbursements exist only in targeted situations, such as post-cancer support through coaches trained by the Foundation Against Cancer, but this does not apply to general life coaching.

Some health insurance funds offer limited reimbursements for specific types of coaching (e.g., young caregivers), but these are well-defined and regulated cases.
